Today, the Players Media Group announced that Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr. and Cincinnati Reds All-Star pitcher Trevor Bauer are new investors and strategic partners to lead the baseball vertical of PlayersTV, the network dedicated to sports lifestyle and culture entertainment co-founded by entertainment executives Deron Guidrey,Collin Castellaw and led by former Tennis Channel Executive Nancy Pingitore as CEO.
A 13-time All-Star during a career spanning two decades, Griffey’s style and charisma helped rejuvenate America’s pastime and inspire an entire generation of future MLB stars. Griffey’s Swingman Media Group creates a window of social impact from an athlete’s standpoint. The content ranges anywhere from on the field to off the field, training, working with charities, youth communities, and more.

PlayersTV will feature Momentum’s entire library of original content including signature series Bauer Bytes and Live ABs, as well as Bauer’s personal content series such as Breaking Point and Tips with Trev.

Today’s announcement follows the launch of PlayersTV on March 25, 2020 on Samsung TV Plus with an athlete majority-owned group of 15+ elite athletes including NBA superstars Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, C.J. McCollum and NFL great Vernon Davis among others, all of whom have a financial stake and creative control of their individual production companies. Anthem Sports & Entertainment, owner of AXS TV (a joint venture with AEG and Mark Cuban Companies) is also an investor and strategic partner in Players Media Group. In addition to Samsung, three additional distributors are anticipated to launch PlayersTV before Q4 2020, projecting to reach more than 75+mm households.
With Griffey and Bauer onboard, PlayersTV now has content and investor partnerships with athletes from three of the four major professional sports leagues in North America.
