New educational augmented reality gaming system combines physical and digital play to encourage STEM for kids

"Following up on our previously successful Kickstarter campaign, Orboot, Plugo enters the space to continue teaching children through the magic of educational augmented reality."

To seamlessly blend screentime with learning in the 21st century, PlayShifu introduces Plugo, an immersive, educational AR gaming system that challenges and enhances children’s mental and physical development with STEM integration. Today, PlayShifu launched a Kickstarter campaign in the hopes of raising $25,000 in order to help bring Plugo to families worldwide.

The new gaming system includes a base and modular, interchangeable kits such as a steering wheel, a clickable joystick, a set of number blocks and magnetic hexagon building blocks. Each kit comes with its own set of fun games and inherent learning and is compatible with most tablets and smartphones. Multiple gaming options and future expansion packs will give children a new hands-on, portable learning experience every time they play.

"Following up on our previously successful Kickstarter campaign, Orboot, Plugo enters the space to continue teaching children through the magic of educational augmented reality,” said Vivek Goyal, CEO and Co-Founder of PlayShifu. "The engagement for Orboot among parents and educators encouraged our team to launch a new product that retains the depth of experience, but offers a highly diverse experience in terms of physical and digital play.”

By plugging an iPhone or tablet into Plugo’s easy-to-use base gamepad, children can partake in 3D game experiences such as exploring deep oceans in a submarine or solving city missions in a helicopter. Whether it’s mathematics, logical reasoning, vocabulary or comprehension, your child is actively learning and growing with Plugo, one game at a time.

"It’s important to incorporate learning and physical development in today’s digital age,” said Dinesh Advani, Co-Founder of PlayShifu. “With Plugo, children can have fun on a smart device while actively improving mental and motor skills. We understand that the sense of touch and interaction leaves a lasting impression; it helps memory retention and promotes active learning, unlike a 2D game that is ultimately forgotten.”

Plugo is currently available for preorder on Kickstarter for $35.00 USD, which includes (1) Plugo gamepad setup and your choice of one (1) gaming kit for almost 36% off the retail price. For more information about the campaign or to place an order, visit
