Pocket Nurse® Joins Veteran Mentorship Program
MONACA, Penn. (PRWEB) September 06, 2018 -- Pocket Nurse® Enterprises, Inc. will renew its commitment to America’s service men and women in late August 2018 when it welcomes its first protégé from American Corporate Partners’ (ACP) veteran mentorship program.
The protégé will work closely with our Senior Corporate Director William Evanson to evaluate and enhance his or her civilian career path.
“I’ve learned from working with veterans employed at Pocket Nurse that transitioning from the military to private industry can be difficult,” said Evanson. “We owe it to our veterans to make that transition as smooth as possible.”
The mentorship program will last one year. Evanson will speak regularly with his protégé one-on-one to develop his or her professional goals. Together, they will work to employ the strengths taught by the military while adjusting to distinctions of the private sector like jargon and culture.
“Pocket Nurse seems like a good fit for the program because of their commitment to veterans,” said Manager of the Mentoring Program Samantha Greenberg. “It’s a part of the company culture.”
Fortune 500 companies typically participate in the mentorship program, but “not everyone wants to work at a place like that,” said Greenberg. As a small business, Pocket Nurse is proud to offer protégés another option.
In addition to Pocket Nurse’s involvement with ACP, the company has hired several veterans in key full-time and part-time positions.
“It’s our responsibility as a corporation to make a positive impact on our community,” said Evanson. “Working with veterans adds a lot to our organization and allows us to nurture them professionally.”
