PointCentral Smart Home IoT technology helps Rockstar increase resident satisfaction and maintain leadership role as NAA Independent Owner of The Year.

"Then we found PointCentral, who not only have an elegant cellular-based solution that is designed for an enterprise such as ours, they have the flexibility, the partnership mentality, successful track record, and the respect for our vision and culture that we were looking for."

PointCentral, the recognized leader in enterprise-scale Property Automation solutions for short and long-term residential property managers, today announced that Rockstar Capital, Houston, Texas, has chosen PointCentral to supply smart home technology for their multiple multifamily properties in the Houston area representing more than 3,500 units.

“Initially, we thought we could develop smart apartments ourselves by choosing from the many consumer products available in the market, but that turned out not to be the case,” said Robert Martinez, Founder and President of Rockstar Capital. “Wi-Fi based systems didn’t allow us to control access, temperature and other smart devices during turns. Then we found PointCentral, who not only have an elegant cellular-based solution that is designed for an enterprise such as ours, they have the flexibility, the partnership mentality, successful track record, and the respect for our vision and culture that we were looking for. As I always say, if it’s good for our residents, it’s good for us. Check out our new video that shows how smart home technology and other amenities are giving us a competitive advantage.”

Rockstar smart apartments will provide residents with the complete smart home experience, including smart locks, smart thermostats and smart lights all controlled from a Qolsys touchscreen wall panel, smart phone app, or via voice control using Amazon Echo, Google Home or Siri Shortcuts. Plus, PointCentral’s architecture enables easy implementation of additional smart devices in the future.

“At Rockstar, the customer is always foremost in our mind and our goal with adding smart features is to make life easier and save our residents time by providing the #RockstarLiving experience that they won’t want to leave,” said Tracey Tyler, Vice President of Marketing and Innovation at Rockstar. “With this in mind, we did our own testing for several months and had endless calls with many different companies with smart home programs and after doing so found PointCentral to have our best interest in mind. They never left one question without a solid answer with experience and testing to back it up. This gave us peace of mind that out of several providers we chose the right one.”

“We applaud Robert and the Rockstar Capital team for their forward thinking and focus on innovation that drives resident satisfaction,” said Sean Miller, President of PointCentral. “Not only will they be delivering convenience, safety and a wow-factor for their residents, they will realize significant operational efficiencies including elimination of keys, energy savings, HVAC cost reduction and better control of vacant apartments.”

Installation, training, support and monitored services at Rockstar’s communities will be managed by PointCentral’s partner Green Marbles, Mountain View, Calif.
