Polar V800 Uber-Triathlon Watch Says HRWC

Fredrick Van Lierde, 2013 World Ironman Triathlon Champion, uses the V800 in his training and racing - so it is a serious product to be sure. "The battery life is 16 hours plus so it has you covered for an Ironman", says Squire.
Swim
Although not fully defined by Polar yet via its beta models, the V800 will most likely offer laps, stokes, distance and heart rate, since Polar's H7 Bluetooth chest strap supports both Bluetooth and 5kHz which is what it takes to do heart rate in water. "Polar doesn't come out with a lot of new products, so when they do they are usually fairly significant", says Squire.
Bike
Pace, distance, heart rate, calories - Polar is already consistently accurate at all of these measurements according to Squire. He adds, "The Polar Look/Keo power pedals will be re-released in April in a Bluetooth version that will perfectly coincide with the V800 launch so this will give an ideal companion for power data for cyclists and triathletes".
Run
On the running side Polar V800 will do superbly with fast, accurate GPS for pace and distance. "Polar already has the most accurate data for heart rate and calories as proven by our testing and by many Human Performance Labs - those are simply the facts", says Squire.
"You will also be able to hook the Polar Stride Sensor Bluetooth Smart up to this watch if you require cadence data", says Squire.
Price and Availability
The Polar V800 will come in both black and blue, both with and without heart rate, according to Squire. "The non-heart rate version will sell for $399 and the heart rate version will sell for $449, very similar to the Garmin Forerunner 910XT which it competes with", says Squire.
