Starring Bahram Radan, Alicja Bachleda, Coby Ryan McLaughlin and Elisabeth Röhm. POLARIS is an insightful and suspenseful drama in which a psychologically traumatized war photographer is locked in a desperate struggle to protect her secrets and escape her inevitable return to the Middle East.

POLARIS, Directed by Soudabeh Moradian, was filmed in Los Angeles, Seattle and Tehran.
At a time when political tensions deepen intra-cultural divides, the filmmakers set out to bridge the expansive gap and to deliver a message to those suffering in silence. Through an intimate look into the lives of the characters, POLARIS subtly addresses universal human issues attendant to war, immigration and gender equality.

POLARIS won Best Picture at the Culver City Film Festival and the California Women's Film Festival, where it was also nominated for the best director and best actress. In preparation for the role, Alicja Bachleda, studied Farsi and consulted privately with former soldiers who had suffered with post-traumatic stress following their deployment.
Bachleda has been described as skillfully and authentically portraying the silent struggle of Baran, a half-Persian journalist who leaves behind the war-torn countries of the Middle East, only to live in the ongoing aftermath of the trauma. Baran is a shattered, yet fiercely independent woman striving for independence and equality.
POLARIS is a dramatic portrayal of the manifestation of post‐war trauma amidst the desperate perseverance of hope and love.
