Employee feedback earns local agency national workplace recognition
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Post Insurance has earned national recognition as a Top Insurance Employer for 2026 by Insurance Business America. "This recognition is especially meaningful because it's based on feedback from our employees," said Kathy Post, second-generation agency owner, who joined her father in the family business in 1985. "It means a great deal to know our employees value the culture we work so hard to create."
Insurance Business America (IBA) evaluated participating organizations on compensation, benefits, and workplace practices and programs, followed by an anonymous employee survey covering culture and employee development. Organizations were required to achieve a minimum number of responses and an average 75% employee satisfaction rating.
Nearly 50 Years of a Family Culture
Approaching its 50th year in business, Post Insurance remains a local, family-owned agency. Suzzanne Holt was hired 43 years ago by the agency's founder, Bob Post. Suzzanne shared some of her fondest moments of being part of Post Insurance. "The sense of family goes back to the beginning and its founders, Bob and 'Butch' Post," said Holt. "Bob officiated the marriage ceremony for my husband and me at his home. And his wife, 'Butch,' helped when I was struggling as a young, single mother. After 43 years navigating all the ups and downs of life, it's never felt like a job. They're extended family."
Giving Employees a Voice
For Kelley Booth, having a voice, testing new programs, and being included in decisions are among the top reasons she's enjoyed working at Post Insurance for 20 years. "It makes me happy to work at a place where my opinion is valued," said Booth. "I never get bored. We're always looking ahead—adapting, innovating, and finding ways to improve serving our customers. I appreciate working at a place that allows me to help shape how I do my job."
Little Things are Big Things
Post Insurance has woven recognition programs, volunteer opportunities, professional development, team-building, celebrations, and social activities into their culture. "Making people feel valued doesn't always mean costly programs or grand gestures," says Becky Post, Vice President of Business Operations with 24 years at the agency. "An afternoon coffee run or ice-cream sundae bar on a hot day may seem like a small thing, but it can have a big impact on someone having a tough day." That sense of connection is something Stacey Bihl, one of the agency's newest employees, noticed quickly. "There's a sense of belonging and support," said Bihl. "Besides loving what I do, I love who I work with. Everybody cares for each other, and there's a feeling of family in how we work together as a team."
At the helm, Kathy Post's favorite times are the ones that bring the team together simply to relax and have fun. "Our people truly are the heart of who we are and what we do," said Kathy. "Whether dressing up for Halloween, singing through music bingo, or wrapping gifts for a hospice family, I believe creating a nurturing, positive, and uplifting culture makes a meaningful difference for our employees—and ultimately the customers and community we serve."
