Posthumous Publication of An Accomplished Librarian's Collected Journal Entries Offer Deep Insight in New Book "A Personal View of History"
Page Publishing releases the eye-opening book, "A Personal View of History: From Winston Churchill to Barack Obama" bringing the internal voice of Rhoda F. Sandler to the world at large.
ARDSLEY, N.Y., Feb. 15, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Rhoda F. Sandler lived a remarkably storied life. Born in 1927, Rhoda attended the University of Pennsylvania on a full-scholarship, where she worked on the student newspaper and college radio programs. In the summer of 1949, she received a scholarship to study at the University of London, and was employed by the Upholsterers' Union upon her return to the United States. In 1962 she enrolled in Drexel University for a Library Science degree, the completion of which was put on hold when her husband, Henry, received an engineering position in France, relocating the family for several years. Completing her degree in 1968, Rhoda gained employment as the Audiovisual Librarian at Montgomery County Community College, retiring in 1989. She passed away in 2012.
After her death, her husband, Henry, and one of their daughters. Jessica, discovered a box of Rhoda's journals. Considering the topics she covered in her years as an amateur journalist and as a lifelong academic, Henry felt Rhoda's work was too poignant to not share with the public.
"Some years back, I published a book on engineering," Henry Sandler explained. "I realized that, if I could extract Rhoda's entries into a published book, we could be next to each other forever in the Library of Congress."
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, "A Personal View of History" joins the ranks of journals which double as primary sources of the thought processes of those present for historical moments.
Readers who wish to share in Rhoda's thoughts can purchase "A Personal View of History: From Winston Churchill to Barack Obama" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
