“During this unprecedented time in education, delivering these solutions to educators and students is more important than ever before and I’m honored to continue leading the incredibly passionate and talented team at PowerSchool through this time and beyond," said PowerSchool CEO Hardeep Gulati.

PowerSchool, a leader in education technology, announced today that CEO, Hardeep Gulati, has been recognized on The Software Report’s annual Top 50 SaaS CEOs list. Gulati is ranked number five on the list of 50 SaaS CEOs and is honored as the top-ranking education software CEO within the list of prestigious executives.

The selection process was based on nomination submissions from colleagues, peers and other software industry participants and was weighed across several key areas including company performance, workplace culture, product strength and strategic decision-making.

The Software Report explained in its announcement that the awardees this year “represent highly regarded CEOs whose colleagues both internal and external to their company praise their effective leadership style."

During his five-year tenure at PowerSchool, Gulati has successfully led nine acquisitions including the most recent which is Schoology. Additionally, he has overseen the expansion of the company’s workforce, which has grown from 1,000 to around 2,500 employees in just five years. With Gulati leading, PowerSchool has become a clear leader in education technology. For Gulati, leading a company that includes thousands of educators and technology specialists is a natural evolution of his lifelong commitment to harnessing the power of technology to transform lives and unlock student potential. Gulati has also been the recipient of EdTech Digest’s EdTech Leadership/CEO Award and executive of the year from the Business Intelligence Group’s BIG Awards for Business.

“Since becoming CEO of PowerSchool in 2015, I’ve put my focus on creating a suite of solutions that provide schools and districts with what they need to empower educators and improve student outcomes,” said Gulati. “During this unprecedented time in education, delivering these solutions to educators and students is more important than ever before and I’m honored to continue leading the incredibly passionate and talented team at PowerSchool through this time and beyond.”

The announcement comes on the heels of PowerSchool’s recognition as one of the nation’s fastest growing private companies on Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 5000. With a three-year revenue growth rate of more than 200 percent, PowerSchool was among the fastest-growing K-12 education technology companies on the Inc. 5000 list.
