Powur has launched the AI Compute Node Hosting Program, letting homeowners host a high-performance AI compute node alongside a new solar or solar + battery system and earn a monthly share of the income it generates.
Homeowners can host an AI compute node alongside their solar system and receive 80% of the net compute income it generates, with bill protection built into the agreement.
SAN DIEGO and DEL MAR, Calif., Oct. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Powur, PBC, a residential solar platform and Public Benefit Corporation, today launched its AI Compute Node Hosting Program. The program lets homeowners host a high-performance AI compute node alongside a new solar or solar + battery system and earn a monthly share of the income it generates.
AI needs enormous amounts of computing power and electricity, and the grid was not built to deliver it fast enough. Powur's program addresses that bottleneck with a decentralized model: instead of relying only on centralized data centers, it places compute in homes and pays the homeowners who host it.
"This changes everything for residential solar," said Jonathan Budd, Founder and CEO of Powur. "AI is the next multi-trillion-dollar market, and its biggest problem is getting enough power and compute online. We're putting that capacity in homes, so the people powering AI finally get paid for it. Imagine the AI companies helping pay your utility bills. That's what we're building."
How it works for homeowners
The node is an NVIDIA RTX PRO 6000-class GPU appliance, installed by Powur alongside the homeowner's solar system. Powur mounts it on a wall and connects it to power and Ethernet in about two hours. Paid AI workloads are routed to it, and the homeowner receives a share of what it earns.
- 80% revenue share. Homeowners receive 80% of net compute receipts, paid monthly with an itemized statement.
- $0 out of pocket. The node is owned and maintained for the homeowner, with maintenance, repair and replacement included.
- Bill protection. If compute earnings fall short in a month, the program covers the gap on the homeowner's documented electricity and internet baseline, recovered only from future earnings.
- Flexible payouts. Homeowners can direct part or all of their payout toward electricity, internet, solar or battery bills.
- Five-year term, cancel anytime. The agreement auto-renews, and homeowners can cancel with no early-termination fee.
Earnings are not guaranteed and depend on utilization, workload demand, pricing and collections.
What it means for Powur sellers
For Powur's nationwide network of energy entrepreneurs, the node is a new piece of equipment on the same solar proposal, not a separate sale. It gives homeowners a new reason to go solar and gives sellers a way to participate in the growth of AI, alongside their existing solar business.
Powur orders the node after a project funds and installs it between solar installation and inspection. The goal is for it to be earning before the homeowner's first solar payment.
Availability
The AI Compute Node Hosting Program is available now through Powur sellers, added to new solar and solar + battery projects. Powur unveiled the program at a live virtual launch event on October 22, 2026, at 5:00 PM PT. To learn more, visit powur.com.
