CARLSBAD, Calif., Dec. 9, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Powur PBC, a rapidly growing renewable energy platform, today announced that it has procured another 8 MW of solar panels, amid a global supply chain shortage.
The investment leverages Powur's strong cash position and funds from its recent record-breaking crowd-funding round to help protect the company's customers and professional network of sellers from the challenges and disruptions that have affected customers of other solar companies in recent months. Disrupted shipping lanes, labor and market shortages and fluctuating demand have negatively impacted supply chains across the globe, dramatically slowing delivery of products ranging from apparel to cars to toys and solar panels. Companies like Tesla, FedEx, Nike and others have made recent announcements regarding limited supply and its impact on pricing or product availability for customers.
"Despite the challenges we and other companies are facing at this time, Powur is proud to have the financial strength and the ability to plan ahead and minimize disruption while we create a world-class experience for our customers and sellers," said Jonathan Budd, Powur CEO. "We are living in unprecedented times and like companies in most industries we are faced with difficult decisions in order to provide the best experience possible for our customers. In light of these conditions, we will continue to look at all areas of our business and procurement needs to enable the Powur platform to deliver on our mission to help more customers benefit from clean renewable energy at their homes."
The company's recent purchase bolsters existing module inventory, extending the timeline of available safety stock for Powur customers and includes a variety of panel brands, further diversifying the suite of equipment available for customers on its cloud-based solar platform.
"Customers want options and they want experts to guide them through the process. Our solar platform in the cloud gives them both, with the most customized and affordable options in the industry," Budd said. "We are proud to make this investment in our customers. It's a sign of our confidence in Powur's future, in our sales partners, in our installation partners and in our customers and a sign of our commitment to continue accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy without disruption."
