("Precision ADM" or "the Company"), a global medical device company and advanced manufacturing solutions provider today announced that their CANSWAB™ nasopharyngeal swabs are the first Canadian-made COVID-19 testing product to receive Health Canada approval.
The Company has engineered a new 3D-printed swab design and has trademarked the name CANSWAB™ for distribution. The collection capability has been clinically tested and proven statistically equivalent to a traditional flocked swab. The Company received Health Canada approval for the CANSWAB™ design on June 23, 2020. Precision ADM has secured an additional 20,000 square foot facility in order to build the needed cleanroom manufacturing areas for mass-producing nasopharyngeal swabs. With the added capabilities and facilities, the Company will be able to manufacture and ship hundreds of thousands of CANSWAB™ nasopharyngeal swabs per week.
Precision ADM has received multiple CANSWAB™ orders from Canadian Provincial Governments, and with a letter of intent from the Federal Government of Canada, the Company is scaling up production with the goal of producing two to four million swabs per month to meet the needs of Canadians and other countries.
