National nonprofit Prevent Blindness, has been named a "Healthy People 2030 Champion" by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
CHICAGO, Aug. 4, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Prevent Blindness, the nation's leading voluntary eye health and safety nonprofit organization, is pleased to be recognized by the Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion (ODPHP) within the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as a Healthy People 2030 Champion.
As a Healthy People 2030 Champion, Prevent Blindness has demonstrated a commitment to helping achieve the Healthy People 2030 vision of a society in which all people can achieve their full potential for health and well-being across the lifespan. ODPHP recognizes Prevent Blindness, along with other Healthy People 2030 Champions, as part of a growing network of organizations partnering with ODPHP to improve health and well-being at the local, state, and tribal level.
Prevent Blindness has been a collaborator with the Healthy People Initiative for several decades. Objectives for the Healthy People 2030 program align with the Prevent Blindness sight-saving mission in a variety of areas, including children's vision, diabetes, falls prevention, eye safety, access to care for underserved populations, and more.
