The region's first bakery specializing in pound cakes will offer giveaways, discounts, and free mini pound cakes at its new storefront location.
FREDERICK, Md., July 6, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On Saturday, August 6, at 4:00 p.m., Priscilla's Pound Cakes, the region's first bakery specializing in gourmet pound cakes, will hold its grand opening in a new brick & mortar space at the Cutting Board at 300 East 2nd St. in downtown Frederick. The event will include music, giveaways, light refreshments, samples, and a 15% discount all day; the first 20 customers will receive free mini pound cakes.
The bakery, which has been successfully operating online for nearly two years, will offer pound cakes in its four signature flavors (lemon, rum, strawberry, and vanilla), as well as a rotation of seasonal flavors like peach and blueberry this summer and a sweet potato cake at Thanksgiving. Cakes range in size from mini single-serving Bundt cakes sold by the dozen to traditional Bundt cakes serving 10 to 15 people. Prices range from $25 to $55 for whole cakes. Additional "trendy" treats like cakesicles and a variety of chocolate covered desserts are also on the menu.
"Baking brings me much joy, and we're very excited to take things to the next level with this new space at the Cutting Board," said Priscilla Myles, the chef and owner of the bakery. "I'm so grateful for my family's support, all of our online customers for helping us grow so quickly, and for members of the community here in Frederick who encouraged us to expand into a physical space."
While the online store will continue its current operations and offerings, the new storefront will provide customers with even more flexibility and options, including the ability to pick up online orders in person. Custom pound cakes and gluten-free options will also be available in the future.
Priscilla has been an avid home baker since she was a child. What initially started as baking cakes for friends and family during the pandemic quickly turned into a profitable small business, with positive customer feedback and a loyal customer base.
