Nine winners of the prestigious 2019 PRISM industry awards were celebrated on May 8th at a ceremony during the annual PRISM conference in Nashville, TN. The PRISM conference is sponsored by EDR, a LightBox company and the pioneering leader in property due diligence technology and data.

The PRISM conference included professional development and networking for industry thought leaders, along with the fourth annual PRISM awards dinner where individuals and firms were recognized by their peers for significant contributions to the property due diligence and commercial lending industries. Managed by the third-party Zweig Group, award nominations and the voting process were independently collected, verified and tallied.

Hall of Fame Recognition
The recipient of this year’s highest honor, the Industry Hall of Fame award, was Anthony Buonicore. An industry icon in the field of environmental engineering, Anthony serves as a tireless leader on ASTM committees dedicated to the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) process and to building energy performance assessments. With an extensive list of accomplishments across his career, Anthony has co-founded multiple successful companies, including BCA Environmental Services, Chemrox, EDR and Sustainable Real Estate Solutions (SRS). He is a past president and fellow member of the International Air & Waste Management Association, a Diplomat in the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists, and Chairman of ASTM’s Building Energy Performance Task Group. Anthony is currently Chairman and CEO of the Buonicore Group and Chairman of SRS. Accepting his award onstage, Buonicore said “It is a privilege and an honor to accept this award and I want to thank each and every one of you. This is a great industry, filled with opportunity and challenge, and one that I cannot more highly recommend to young professionals looking for a rewarding career. It is also a great privilege for me to join fellow Industry Hall of Famers Julie Kilgore, Jeff Telego and Georgina Dannatt.”

Industry Influencer
Elizabeth Krol was named this year’s Industry Influencer. Deeply involved with the industry, Krol is a frequent speaker and writer on professional due diligence topics. She leads the ASTM 1527 technical work group and is the Editor of the Environmental Bankers Association Journal, a delegate representing CREW Boston to the 11,000+ member global CREW Network and a member of the CREW Boston Legacy Council. Krol was recently selected as the Espirit de Coeur winner at the CREW Boston 2019 achievement awards, and was also recognized as a Woman of Influence by Real Estate Forum in 2018. On accepting the PRISM Industry Influencer award, Krol noted, “It is an incredibly validating and a greatly appreciated honor to be recognized among this talented peer group, the ‘best of the best.’ Thank you to my colleagues at Partner Engineering and Science whom I respect and admire, challenging me to do my best every day.”

PRISM Developing Leaders
Another highlight of the ceremony was recognition by John Rybak of the 14 participants of the new PRISM Developing Leaders Program who were in attendance at the Nashville event. Rybak, Senior Vice President and Environmental Risk Manager at BB&T and 2017 PRISM Industry Influencer Award winner, spearheaded this mentor program along with EDR’s Principal Analyst Dianne Crocker as a way to give back and nurture emerging professionals in the due diligence industry. Rybak commented, “We’re so proud to recognize these dedicated and passionate individuals who generously made a decision to pass on their knowledge and help others. I also give recognition to EDR’s corporate citizenship for building out this program and dedication to its commitment to nurturing the future of our industry.”
