Pro Athletes to Attend Selah Freedom Immersion Tour To Eradicate Sex Trafficking

SARASOTA, Fla., Sept. 10, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Selah Way Foundation has announced that NBA World Champion Trent Tucker and NFL Legend Tony Richardson will join Elizabeth Melendez Fisher, President/CEO and co-founder of Selah Freedom and Al Reynolds, COO of Selah Freedom on an Immersion Tour on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. This tour will provide insight into the journey of a survivor of sex trafficking. It provides a tangible glimpse into how innocent American children are sold on the streets, as well as how they connect with law enforcement and Outreach team liaisons, eventually bringing them into one of Selah Freedom's safe homes. Also joining the tour is NYC entertainment attorney, Cabot Marks, Partner Marks Di Palermo and singer & actor, DeeMo.

Selah Freedom is one of the partnering organizations under The Selah Way Foundation. The Selah Way Foundation has three initiatives: Prevention, which works to prevent youth from being exploited by providing training to children, teens, parents and those working with youth; Protection, which trains first responders on how to recognize and address sex trafficking; and the largest initiative, Provision, providing survivors of sex trafficking and exploitation with safe housing and restorative services. Selah Freedom has hubs providing safe housing around the country, which will be highlighted during the Immersion Tour.

Last month, The Selah Way Foundation launched in NYC with many businessmen and women from various industries. FBI Victims Agent, Laura B. Riso spoke on behalf of the organization providing horrific statistics of sex trafficking that takes place right here in the U.S. The Selah Way Foundation will be launching online live engagement opportunities, making it convenient for interested supporters to learn more about their collaborative work.

Looking ahead, Selah Freedom will host fundraisers in some of the biggest cities in which sex trafficking is prevalent. Rock the Boat Chicago Against Sex Trafficking: September 16, from 12:30pm-4:00pm. The boat will dock at Du Sable Harbor on the Chicago River, 111 North Lake Shore Drive. On November 15, 2018, Rock the Boat Sarasota Against Sex Trafficking: 7:00pm-9:00pm on the rooftop of the Westin Hotel, 100 Marina View Drive.

A New Beginning Fashion Event in partnership with Saks 5th Avenue, will take place at University Town Center, 120 University Town Center Drive, Sarasota, FL on Sunday, January 20, 2019 from 6:30pm-9:00pm.

The Arizona Cardinals are committed to endorsing Selah Freedom as they launch a Southwest Residential safe house campus in Arizona in 2019. The Arizona Cardinals are an integral piece in launching this campus and their partnership creates further collaboration for The Selah Way Foundation network.

Selah Freedom's Residential Program is a two-home phase model, including an Assessment Home and a long-term Residential Home on two separate campuses, to best serve the needs of survivors at different times in their journey toward freedom. Currently, Selah Freedom has a $600k matching gift available for one campus and $200k is needed for their second campus.
