Professional Long Drivers Association Announces aboutGOLF Online Qualifier
Long drivers now have more ways to qualify through golf simulator competitions.
SEATTLE, Jan. 29, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Professional Long Drivers Association (PLDA) has announced a partnership with aboutGOLF to open access to the PLDA World Championship to more players. As of February 1st, golfers with a knack for the long drive can attempt to qualify for the PLDA Regionals from any aboutGOLF simulator.
Long driver competitions have little resemblance to a traditional golf tournament. The sport emphasizes power and speed, drawing a much more relaxed and energetic crowd. Players train with the goal of pushing their bodies to hit their maximum speed.
"Very few of us hit at 100% of our potential. If we're playing a round of golf, we're not necessarily trying to hit the ball as far as we can. With the pandemic still looming large globally, the PLDA was looking for new ways to draw additional players to the sport.
