ATLANTA, Jan. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Imaging USA, the largest photographic convention and tradeshow in North America, will be held virtually January 17-19, 2021. Organized by the nonprofit Professional Photographers of America (PPA), the annual conference offers classes, an Expo, and networking opportunities to help photographers grow their small businesses and create meaningful connections within the photographic industry. This year, motivational speakers Sally Hogshead and Kaplan Mobray will deliver keynote speeches, and renowned filmmaker Ken Burns will give his remarks upon receiving the PPA Lifetime Achievement Award.
Since 1869, Imaging USA has served as a beacon of inspiration and creativity for PPA members, small business owners, and the photography world at-large. Last year's event in Nashville, Tennessee, drew over 10,000 attendees. The only times the convention has not been held was during the Great Depression and the two World Wars.
"The track record for Imaging USA is remarkable," says PPA President Gregory Daniel. "During these uncertain times, the pivot to a virtual platform allows us to hold a show just when our members and the photography community as a whole need it the most. And, just as important, it allows everyone to attend the show safely."
PPA's decision to move Imaging USA to an online format—and drastically reducing the price of the conference—is one of the many moves made by the nonprofit to help photographers during the pandemic. Waiving member fees and providing detailed coverage of the government's Coronavirus Relief legislation were also ways PPA helped small business owners navigate uncertainty.
"There is nothing in the photographic world—and I mean nothing—that has been there for us since the very beginning and that continues to be there for us today," Daniel said. "In our ever-changing industry, Imaging USA is the one thing that photographers can depend on."
Imaging USA kicks off this Sunday, January 17, at 9 AM Eastern Time and runs through Tuesday, January 19, at 5 PM Eastern Time. After that, all of the show's classes and events will be available to watch on-demand through the end of the month. Pre-con classes are also available on-demand. To join the virtual conference, please register at ImagingUSA.org.
