What we do is automate the process for people, so they have the facts they need immediately, before closing.

PropertyOwners.org has been launched to help both buyers and sellers of real estate gain access to public documents that can help make them informed members of the marketplace, the company announced yesterday.
“Real estate is coming back as a force in the market,” a PropertyOwners.org spokesman said. “But many people are new buyers or investors, and don't realize how much information they need to have before they can reasonably decide to make a deal. We want to help them with that by providing easy access to public real estate documents.”
There are a variety of public real estate records including estimated value, lot size, code violations, property liens, and other information that is available to consumers, but often difficult to access, he said.
“Having to track down these documents personally at town halls can take a lot of time and energy,” the PropertyOwners.org spokesman said. “Particularly if you don't live near the places they are stored. What we do is automate the process for people, so they have the facts they need immediately, before closing.”
With the PropertyOwners.org system, people type the address of a property into the site's search bar. After paying a small fee, the available information is transmitted directly to their desktop, he said.
“We have access to millions of public records in North America,” he said. “We think that by making them easily available to people, we are providing an affordable public service.”
