Providigm Announces Embracing Quality Award Winners
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) March 20, 2018 -- Providigm’s sixth annual Embracing Quality Awards were announced last week at AHCA/NCAL’s 2018 Quality Summit in New Orleans, LA. The 265 skilled nursing centers that were honored are recognized as top-performing organizations in the United States and Canada.
Winning nursing homes were awarded for outstanding performance in one or more of three categories:
- Attaining a deficiency-free annual health inspection in 2017
- Having a low risk-adjusted rate of readmission to hospitals
- Achieving exceptionally favorable customer satisfaction ratings
Hundreds of healthcare professionals attended the Bayou Bash, hosted by Providigm and Medline Industries, at the American Health Care Association and the National Center for Assisted Living’s (AHCA/NCAL) 3rd Annual Quality Summit: Where Excellence Has No Limits. This meeting’s theme continues a tradition of supporting and challenging members who are focused on quality improvement.
“With the enormity of the new requirement, successful facilities will create efficiencies that didn't exist before by embracing technology and partnering with experts,” Ellen Kuebrich, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Providigm.
Two centers, Heritage Health Minonk of IL and Hillview Community Living Center of TN, were presented with special award plaques at the event to recognize their achievement as the only facilities in the country to win a 2017 Embracing Quality Award in all three award categories.
In order to be eligible to win an Embracing Quality Award, centers needed to achieve Providigm’s Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Accreditation in either the Basic or Advanced level. The accredited centers implemented QAPI systems which met quantitative standards that have been demonstrated to be associated with significant performance improvement. In total, over 1400 nursing centers, located across the United States and Ontario, Canada, received QAPI Accreditation in 2017. Only 10% of all homes in the United States earned this elite designation. Out of the 48 states to have accredited homes in 2017, Ohio had the highest number of accredited centers.
Providigm’s QAPI Accreditation program is based on four standards for excellence in continuously improving quality of care and life for nursing home residents. The standards are evaluated quarterly for a period comprising the preceding twelve months. abaqis, the leading Quality Management System for post-acute healthcare providers, was used by the centers to conduct QAPI on a continuous and comprehensive basis.
