CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif., May 24, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- The Covid19 world Pandemic is hitting hard to those most at risk in impoverished communities around the world. Many of those affected are US children in low-income areas and youth living on the streets, which are endangered and more vulnerable at this time.
With widespread school closures, it is estimated over 30 million US youth may go without food. Some of the most high-risk youth are left vulnerable to include youth who are homeless and those involved in foster care and juvenile systems. None of these youth will receive a stimulus check of assistance. Calls to the hotlines for youth from ages 12- 24 has risen over 227 percent.
Several organizations and individuals such as the Boys and Girls Club, Covenant House, Blessings in a Backpack, Meals on Wheels, PSI World, Mark Wahlberg, Ellen DeGeneres, and Alicia Keys have supported awareness and the needs of high-risk youth and individuals in our communities.
"In this time of uncertainty, our youth are more at risk than ever before. PSI World has always believed that the youth are the future. Every time we reach out to another who is in need, we shine a light and serve as a beacon of hope and possibility.
