LANSING, Mich., Dec. 14, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- "When I was in elementary school, I was discouraged by my teacher. I was called upon to read in front of my class. I started to read, and after I read one sentence, I was told to sit down. I wanted to read more, but she would not allow me to read. All through school, I hated English, until I took a journalism class during my junior year. My teacher encouraged me to go beyond my limits! I graduated in 1975. I went to work at an automaker in the spring of 1993. It put me on sick leave. I came home one day and sat down and started writing my book in 1993." Timothy Powell states.
"Gilda's and Glen's Geese Nest" (published by Xlibris in July 2018) tells the story of Mother Gilda's Goose and Father Glen Gander's experiences as they raise their family and protect their nesting site from intruders. They have six young goose namely Meeme, Lucy, Freely, Ricky, Shuely and Mikey. Among the six, Mikey was the one who came out last. He was also the one who was trained to fly. In his first descent of gander goosehood, Father Glen Gander and Mother Gilda Goose are always by his side. After his successful flights, Mikey made the Goose upgrade.
During one of their flights, Father Glen Gander, Mother Gilda Goose and Mikey Gander formed the Victory formation. Father Glen Gander cackles to Mikey that all of their victory flight is all their relatives. There is Mikey's Uncle Bob. Behind him is his Aunt Alma and behind Alma is Mikey's sister Meeme. Behind Meeme is Uncle Bernard and Aunt Agatha with Mikey's brothers Ricky, Shuely and Freely. Behind them is his sister, Lucy with Uncle William and Aunt Alainia.
"This book is about family values and how we as people can relate to wildlife. It will appeal to readers because it is a funny read and the plot is full of drama," Powell says. When asked what he wants readers to take away from the book, he answers, "I hope they will recognize that I am a talented writer."
