The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommend introducing peanuts to infants starting as early as 4-6 months of age. The new guidance stems from the findings of The Learning Early About Peanut Allergies (LEAP) study, which showed up to an 86% percent reduction in the development of peanut allergy in infants who ate peanut food compared to those who did not.
