Today, Pulsewear LLC launched DreamOn, a wearable that promotes relaxation and helps guide wearers into restful, refreshing sleep. The device works by emitting safe ultra-low frequency tactile stimuli that encourage natural biological rhythms. It is now available on Indiegogo starting at an early bird price of $99 USD.

DreamOn is a lightweight, discreet band that is worn primarily to prepare for sleep but can also be used for relaxation, and to help hone in on meditation skills. It works by emitting pulsations that mimic the body’s slowest brain waves, which initiate restorative sleep the body needs. This phenomenon is known as entrainment, where the nervous system adopts patterns of external signals to create coveted responses, like relaxation.

“The American Sleep Association reports that 50-70 million adults in the United States have trouble getting enough sleep on a regular basis. Most of us have lots of things to worry about and sometimes we wish there were more hours in the day,” says Pulsewear co-founder Juan Sanabria. “Sleep often gets thrown on the backburner until the hours lost from poor sleep start to affect us. It’s then that we start looking for quick fixes such as sleep medications, which only help in the short term and often have side effects. We wanted to craft something that had zero side effects and that helped people fall asleep in the most natural way possible.”

Sleep is essential to everyday functions. A restful night of sleep not only leads to a refreshing start in the morning and to daytime energy, but also helps regulate a number of important bodily functions, from immune vitality and metabolic efficiency, to physical and psychological healing.

DreamOn’s specially calibrated signals invite the brain’s delta waves to progressively expand their beneficial influence. These slow waves are associated with non-dreaming sleep (NREM), where most of the brain’s recuperation from daily activity is thought to take place.

“We wanted to build something that was non-invasive, stylish and minimalist to wear. It is comfortable and can be used not only to help restore someone’s sleep schedule but also to help promote a relaxed state of mind,” says Pulsewear co-founder and CEO Marty Sokoloff. “This is especially useful in situations where tensions are running high, like before an important work presentation.”

Because the signals used by DreamOn help with relaxation, another way to use the device is to ease daily stresses and anxieties. To relax during daytime, users simply place it on their wrist, turn it on, and allow the device to do its work.

Coupled with the company’s app, users will be able to track sleep stages, sleep time and wake time, and their sleeping schedules. The app will also include guided meditations and soundscapes as an additional tool to help users relax, and a silent alarm so that users don't wake up their partner. The DreamOn app will available on both iOS and Android.

“Our goal was to craft a device that would allow the user to be independent of any over the counter solutions or technology. In terms of entrainment technology, this product is unique in that it uses tactile, rather than auditory or visual signals to access the brain’s relaxation networks and sleep centers. Sleep is so essential to our everyday lives that we often forget that a good night’s sleep is key to our daytime energy and to our feelings of inner harmony and psychological well-being.” adds Sanabria.

DreamOn is available today on Indiegogo with an estimated delivery date of January 2019. For a full rundown of pledges, please visit the Indiegogo campaign. Media wishing to interview their personnel should contact PR agent Borjana Slipicevic at +1.778.858.2595
