Purple Heart Recipient Receives Newly Accessible Home for Valentine’s Day
San Antonio, TX (PRWEB) February 11, 2015 -- Jill Taylor, Bernie Rodriguez and their staff from 101 Mobility of San Antonio will be participating in a Home Celebration Ceremony organized by Homes for Heroes. Over the past several months, 101 Mobility of San Antonio has been working alongside local companies like Stephen Colley Architecture and Peter Stainken Construction.
U.S. Army Sergeant Anson Curry was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan in 2011. He endured a brain injury which has greatly impacted his cognitive abilities and mobility. Since his return, Sergeant Curry has been awarded a Purple Heart and has gone through extensive rehabilitation in Palo Alto, CA. Sergeant Curry has been awarded a Purple Heart and he and his family currently have hopes to settle in San Antonio, TX near the VA Hospital.
Building Homes for Heroes and area companies stepped in to turn the family’s hope into a reality. An overhead patient lift system, rubber ramps, an automatic door openers were provided at a reduced rate and the installation labor was donated by 101 Mobility.
“It is our pleasure and honor to come together for such an important cause,” said Jill Taylor, owner of 101 Mobility of San Antonio. “Our entire team, the organization’s coordinators, builders, and suppliers were really inspired by Sgt. Curry’s bravery. Ensuring he has a safe and accessible place to call home is so important.”
The Curry Family will see their newly renovated home this Saturday on Valentine’s Day. The Home Celebration will begin at 10:30 A.M. and there will be a shuttle bus from downtown San Antonio for those who wish to attend.
