QHR Client Hospital Fort Madison Community Hospital Named Among Truven Health's "100 Top Hospitals List"
Brentwood, Tenn. (PRWEB) April 29, 2015 -- Quorum Health Resources (QHR)’s client hospital Fort Madison Community Hospital (Fort Madison, IA) was named among Truven Health's annual list of the nation's "100 Top Hospitals."
Truven Health's Top 100 Hospitals list includes healthcare organizations that are redefining excellence through outstanding performance in patient care, operational efficiency and financial stability. To conduct the 100 Top Hospitals study, Truven Health researchers evaluated close to 3,000 short-term, acute-care, nonfederal hospitals. Risk-adjusted methodologies were used to analyze public information — Medicare cost reports, Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MEDPAR) data, and core measures and patient satisfaction data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Hospital Compare reports.
As a third time recipient, CEO James Platt of Fort Madison Community Hospital (FMCH) was thrilled for his organization to be recognized among Truven Health's list of 100 Top Hospitals: "This is one of the highest honors you can receive as a healthcare organization,” said Platt. “It is through the focused commitment to quality that each of our employees brings to the role they play at FMCH that we are able to achieve this level of success. We remain dedicated to providing quality, compassionate and affordable healthcare to the communities we serve."
Fort Madison Community Hospital was also a 2015 100 Top Hospitals Everest Award recipient, which recognizes hospitals that have achieved both the highest current performance and the fastest long-term improvement over five years.
"Quorum is proud of and grateful to work alongside our client Fort Madison Community Hospital," said QHR President and CEO Mickey Bilbrey. "Fort Madison is a role model for community hospitals to provide outstanding patient care while creating a sustainable future through strong financial and operational performance.”
“This year’s 100 Top Hospitals represent the highest national standards in hospital care and management today. They set the benchmarks for peers around the country to follow — consistently delivering outstanding quality of care, satisfaction and community value at a reasonable cost,” said Jean Chenoweth, senior vice president for performance improvement and the 100 Top Hospitals program at Truven Health Analytics. “The majority of the 2015 award winners have produced year-to-year performance improvement, as well. This speaks to the consistent focus on excellence by the entire organization and the men and women who serve patients.”
