Naples, FL (PRWEB) November 13, 2014 -- Today Quail Creek Country Club celebrates the opening of their newly renovated Quail Course with two shotgun golf events and an evening celebration. Golfers will tee off on the Quail Course for the first time since April, when the course was closed for extensive renovation. The club’s Creek Course underwent a similar renovation in 2013.
“Our new design features creative challenges for the purist and playability for all that yield an incredible new experience in country club golf,” said Robert P. Magrann, president, board of directors.
Quail Creek Country Club’s Creek Course was originally designed by Arthur Hills and built in 1981. During the past 33 years of operation, the course experienced no major changes. In May of 2013, the membership agreed that it was time to renovate both of the club’s 18-hole golf courses. Work on the Quail Course begin in April. The project created a new golfing experience and a better environment with these changes:
- A completely updated irrigation system, with state-of-the art, Toro sprinkler heads;
- New Celebration grass for tees, fairways and roughs;
- TifEagle Bermuda grass for greens;
- An increase in playable, native areas throughout the course that reduce the amount of water, fertilizer and maintenance required;
- Greens restored to their original sizes and contours; and
- Bunkers restored to their original sizes with the new Angle sand.
The club’s golf course renovations are only part of a multi million dollar upgrade in progress, which includes a new indoor/outdoor casual dining venue and a completely renovated fitness & spa center. “These are exciting times for the new Quail Creek Country Club,” said Ted Monty, managing director. “We are pleased that our established club is poised to meet the demands of our members for many years to come.”
