WETHERSFIELD, Conn., Sept. 8, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Qualidigm, the mission-driven not-for-profit healthcare consulting company based in Wethersfield, Conn. has announced it is winding down operations. For over 37 years, Qualidigm has been a leading national healthcare consulting and research organization, providing quality improvement and patient safety services to transform care delivery and improve outcomes. As a result of recent business slowdown due to COVID-19, a shift in the federal administration's focus, dramatic delays and reductions in federal funding, with no reliance on donations as a not-for-profit organization, Qualidigm's operations are no longer sustainable. After much careful consideration, the Board of Directors made the responsible action to dissolve the company on October 1, 2020.
As a 501(c)(3) organization, a measure of success for the organization has been to reduce the financial burden of the federal government. Over the last decade, Qualidigm has assisted the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in avoiding over $400M in anticipated costs through the programs the organization has implemented across New England alone.

As Qualidigm prepares to close its final chapter, the focus now is to look to the future to identify opportunities for continuing the organization's important contributions to the healthcare industry. Qualidigm is diligently working with clients to explore opportunities to transfer current programs and Qualidigm workforce to other like-mind healthcare organizations. Additionally, the organization will be distributing any remaining assets to St. Joseph's College of Maine and Quinnipiac University, two entities who, after a thorough review process, support the Qualidigm mission and provide meaningful opportunities to memorialize Qualidigm's impact into the future.
