Quality Insights announced a new strategic partnership with the National Academy of Medicine (NAM) to reverse national trends in opioid misuse and overdose. Quality Insights joins more than 100 organizations from across the nation, including community organizations, hospital and medical systems, academia, nonprofits and health professional societies in this groundbreaking collective effort.
“Partnering with the NAM on its Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic will provide a key opportunity for us to discuss and share plans of action with a wide range of stakeholders,” Sven Berg, MD, Chief Executive Officer of Quality Insights said. “This new alliance will supplement our current initiatives where we provide a wide range of opioid-related education, data, networking and assistance for multiple organizations.”
Quality Insights’ opioid-related activities include engaging patients, providing tools and resources, promoting adoption of prescribing guidelines and convening stakeholders to reduce opioid misuse and diversion in West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey and Louisiana; conducting free on-site medical education sessions across Pennsylvania; offering Delaware providers comprehensive academic detailing, workflow assistance, tools and resources; and providing communications and web development services for Healthy Connections, a Huntington, West Virginia-based coalition serving pregnant women and mothers with substance use disorder.

The NAM’s Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic is a public-private partnership committed to developing, curating, and disseminating multi-sector solutions designed to reduce opioid misuse and improve outcomes for individuals, families, and communities affected by the opioid crisis.
