CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Jan. 12, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Quick Base, a leading application development platform that helps businesses achieve operational agility, today announced that Arthur "AJ" Johnson, chief strategy officer at Pure Storage, has joined its board of directors. Johnson's appointment marks another milestone in Quick Base's accelerated growth strategy and adds a senior leader to the board with strategy and operational experience in large companies and hyper-growth company environments. This addition also reinforces the company's continued commitment to growing its board with diverse appointments, including multi-racial, -gendered, and -cultural members.
Johnson brings over 30 years of experience across corporate functions – including operations, strategy, alliances, finance and mergers & acquisitions – with a successful track record at hyper-growth companies. Of note, Johnson's experience at Twilio driving strategy and corporate development prior to their IPO strengthens Quick Base's board and builds upon the company's recent growth.
"AJ's experience in platform growth and developer communities makes him an outstanding strategic partner to help drive our business forward in new and different ways," said Ed Jennings, CEO at Quick Base. "His knowledge of creating partnership eco-systems and strategically expanding the addressable market at his prior companies is very much aligned with Quick Base's priorities."
In his role as chief strategy officer of Pure Storage, Johnson charts the direction of the data storage company's overarching corporate strategy and M&A designed to accelerate the company's growth. Prior, Johnson was an integral leader at Twilio, responsible for driving growth strategy, including acquisitions, integrations, partnerships and investments, and chief operating officer at Cisco WebEx. Johnson is the latest executive from a publicly-traded company to join Quick Base's board, following the 2020 appointments of Javier Polit, CIO at Mondelez International, and Paul von Autenried, executive vice president and CIO at Bristol Myers Squibb.
"With the low-code / no-code industry at an inflection point, we're seeing more and more big players joining the game," said Johnson. "I'm looking forward to helping Quick Base continue to grow their best-in-class product and empower businesses to unlock the potential of their people."
With an MBA from Stanford, Johnson is a seasoned executive with ample experience helping drive sustainable growth across industries, including platform software. His strategic appointment will be instrumental in Quick Base's continued growth in the no-code and low-code industry and helping companies achieve operational agility within their organization.
