QuikStor and Charity Storage are hosting Race for a Cause, an F1-themed fundraiser at the TSSA Big Ideas conference in Austin (Nov. 4-6). Attendees can donate to drive laps in a full-size F1 simulator and every dollar goes to Shriners Children's Texas.
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- QuikStor, the operator-built modern facility management software platform, and Charity Storage, the self-storage industry's leading charitable fundraising organization, today announced Race for a Cause: a one-of-a-kind F1 simulator fundraiser set for the TSSA Big Ideas in Storage Conference and Trade Show on Nov. 4-6 in Austin, Texas. All proceeds benefit Shriners Children's Texas.
Attendees at TSSA have the opportunity to take laps in a real, full-size F1 car simulator for $25, while company sponsors will have their logos prominently displayed in the experience. Every dollar earned goes directly to Shriners Children's Texas. Since 1922, the world-class hospital has been committed to providing orthopedic care, burn treatment, and specialized services to children regardless of their family's ability to pay.
This fast-track fundraising activation is rooted in a story that started with QuikStor's own operators. When the company unveiled its completely rebuilt FMS, an early user called it as fast and sleek as a new supercar. QuikStor leaned into the comparison. Race for a Cause is a natural extension of that theme: a nod to the software's reinvention and an invitation for the self-storage industry to show up for Texas kids.
Austin amplifies the moment. The city's hosted the United States Grand Prix at Circuit of the Americas since 2012, making a full-size F1 car on the TSSA show floor feel like the perfect way to celebrate 40 years of the association and a chance to carry forward self storage's tradition of giving back to the communities it serves.
"Built by operators, driven by community. At QuikStor, we believe the best returns are the ones that give back!" said QuikStor's VP of Growth Scott Worden. "Race for a Cause brings the TSSA community together to have fun, and make a difference, and support Texas kids who need it most."
Mario Maculuso, Program Director of Charity Storage, echoed that sentiment.
"Giving back is part of how self storage does business, and Charity Storage helps turn that generosity into support for people who need it," he said. "Whether you sponsor the race or take a few laps, you're helping Shriners Children's Texas provide care for children regardless of their families' ability to pay. That's a meaningful way to mark TSSA's 40th anniversary."
