EDINBURGH, United Kingdom, Oct. 3, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Quirkos Software announced this week the launch of a new cloud service for their qualitative text analysis tool, Quirkos.
After 5 years on the market, Quirkos has grown into a powerful tool for deep qualitative analysis of text data, and is used in more than 450 universities and market research firms across the world. It helps qualitative researchers sort, code, visualise and identify trends and insights in unstructured text data. This might include transcripts from interviews, focus groups, feedback, policy documents and academic literature. However, while Quirkos offers a secure platform for working with offline data, customers were demanding a cloud option.
Dr Daniel Turner, founder and director of Quirkos noted, "Our challenge moving to the cloud has been implementing data protection requirements for users working with confidential qualitative data, while making access more flexible and co-operative. We also wanted to keep the intuitive colourful interface that is one of the top reasons people use Quirkos."
"Increasingly we find that universities and large organisations are embracing the SaaS model, and becoming more comfortable with subscription based licences," said Dr Turner. "This allows us to offer a new delivery model that creates many benefits for end users, such as convenient, always accessible storage, and advanced data processing in the cloud.
"Many large market research organisations are moving to flexible working, so a cloud platform for analysing qualitative data at home or in the office has been a desire for these customers for many years."
After more than two years in development and extensive beta testing, the Quirkos Cloud platform is now available to subscribers on a quarterly and annual basis, with a 14 day free trial. It advances Quirkos' aim to make qualitative research more accessible by reducing cost, training requirements, and now physical limits to accessing qualitative data. Users will see no difference in the interface, just an extra option to login and access their data from any computer with Quirkos installed. Data is instantly synchronised and automatically backed up, with multiple redundancies, and compliance with all applicable security and data protection safeguards.
The cloud platform will also allow for the development of new functionality in future updates, including automatic transcription, live collaboration and machine learning tools.
