DreamVu, the leader in omnidirectional 3D vision systems, today announced that RAAD Systems has selected DreamVu’s PAL 360° 3D Vision System to be used for obstacle detection and avoidance in its next-generation AMP series autonomous mobile robot (AMR) platforms. RAAD Systems, an emerging leader in robotic automation and system design services, plans to begin shipping the AMP platform by the end of 2020.
DreamVu’s PAL is the only single sensor, omnidirectional vision system to provide 360° stereoscopic sensing with depth perception. PAL enables visual intelligence with an unparalleled field-of-view that eliminates blind spots and combines full color video with precise depth mapping and detection in a single video stream.
According to RAAD System’s Senior Software Engineer Davis Packiaraj, the AMP mobile platforms will benefit from lower operating costs, longer battery-life and improved maneuverability thanks to the unparalleled field-of-view provided by the PAL Vision System. A single PAL system will replace two narrow field-of-view stereo cameras used on previous generations.
