Raging Waves Wins Reflejos “Reflecting Excellence” Award
Yorkville, Ilinois (PRWEB) December 04, 2014 -- Raging Waves, Illinois’ largest water park, has received the “Reflecting Excellence Award” from Reflejos newspaper, the voice for suburban Chicago Latinos. Raging Waves received the award at the 3rd annual awards recognition event, held Nov. 17, sponsored by Reflejos Bilingual Journal at Elgin Community College.
“We are so proud to receive this award,” said Dan Mulka, Director of Marketing at Raging Waves. “Nothing says family like the Latino culture and we welcome Latino families as part of our own family when they spend the day at the park.”
Raging Waves received the award in the entertainment category and was one of thirty award recipients honored. The water park hosts special Hispanic-themed events and employs a population of Hispanic people. They also donate more than 3,000 tickets annually to support community events, including those that serve a great population of the Hispanic community, such as the Sheliah A. Doyle Foundation for children who have lost a parent to homicide.
The Reflejos' Reflecting Excellence Awards recognize businesses and nonprofits for their contributions to the Latino community with services, products, and community activism in Cook, Lake, Kane, McHenry, DuPage, DeKalb, Will, and Kendall counties. Award winners are nominated and selected by the readers of Reflejos.
