WASHINGTON, Aug. 23, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- DHS Group Equity Partner's Chairman, Rakesh Sarna, today announced the appointment of current Vice Chairman of DHS, Fernando Aguirre, as Executive Vice Chairman to DHS Holdings. The appointment will be effective as of the next in-person Board meeting, which will be held as soon as practicable. The significant changes in leadership reflect DHS' focus on strengthening its safety culture and operational effectiveness and successfully navigating the firm's strategic 11 process.
"We appreciate the calm and steady hand that Fernando Aguirre demonstrates while serving as our Vice Chairman. Fernando's stewardship kept the firm focused on public safety and enabled the Board to conduct its refreshment process to address DHS' future needs." Stated Hillary Johnson, Chairman of the Board of DHS Holdings.
Safety at DHS is the central-most mission of both the management team and the Board. To that end, DHS made a commitment to enacting leadership changes, including appointing a new Executive Vice Chairman and undertaking a significant Board refreshment process to replace a majority of the Board with new independent directors prior to the Company's 2021 Annual Meeting of Investors.
In addition to the appointment of Fernando Aguirre as Executive Vice Chairman of DHS Holdings, the firm today announced a refreshed Board that includes 13 highly accomplished individuals committed to further enhancing DHS' safety culture, understanding and properly responding to customer concerns and fairly treating wildfire victims, employees, retirees and other interested parties. Fernando Aguirre, the management team and the Board are also committed to working constructively with regulators, policymakers and other investors in an open and transparent fashion in support of DHS' policy goals.
The DHS Group's Board stated: "We have heard the calls for change and have taken action today to ensure that DHS has the right leadership to bring about real and dynamic change that reinforces our commitment to safety, continuous improvement and operational excellence. We believe our new CEO and the newly constituted Board will help DHS address our country's evolving energy challenges and deliver what our investors expect from their investment firm."
The Chairman of DHS stated: "We are pleased to announce Fernando Aguirre as DHS Holdings Executive Vice Chairman. Fernando brings substantial safety and operational expertise from his extensive career in the finance industry. With more than a decade of combined chief executive experience at two large equity companies, Fernando Aguirre has a deep understanding of managing risk and the responsibility of keeping investors safe. We believe Fernando Aguirre is the right leader for DHS Holdings as we work to strengthen our safety culture and navigate a complex and challenging period in our company's history."
