Ranker Partners with Connatix to Integrate the Next-Generation Video Platform's Innovative "Stories for Publishers" Format

The number one online destination for broad, opinion-based, crowdsourced rankings of everything, Ranker is invested in solutions that both increase reader engagement and time spent on the site, as well as revenue.

Stories for Publishers, launched by Connatix earlier this year, is an interactive, mobile-first video format that benefits all stakeholders: the publisher, the reader, and the advertiser. It's a breakthrough offering that turns a publisher's pre-existing content into an immersive video "story," complete with optional interactive elements such as polls and reaction emojis. Readers can swipe through, click, and react to content in a similar fashion they are accustomed to on social media. What's more, content within the story can be linked to outbound articles or videos on the publisher's site, increasing page views and reader retention.

An early case study was conducted to gauge success and understand how Stories for Publishers performed when compared to more traditional mobile video formats. Ranker's Stories performance was compared--at the impression level to account for any variances in readership size--to the average performance of 10 publishers running standard in-feed mobile video units. In one week, Ranker saw, on average, a $1 higher CPM and 32% more revenue per impression.
