HOBOKEN, N.J., Dec. 17, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Ranku has received a 2018 Marketing Award from the University Professional and Continuing Education Association (UPCEA), the leading association for professional, continuing, and online education. Ranku, a higher education program platform owned by Wiley, and Indiana University Online (IUO) were chosen from several hundred submissions to be honored as a Gold winner in the Website category for their joint proposal, How Indiana University Online Tripled Applications by Leveraging a Powerful Platform.
The award submission focused on how IUO leveraged the Ranku platform to help boost online visibility of the university system's wide range of program offerings in a way that would also use their marketing budget and resources effectively. The Ranku platform aggregated all of the system's online programs into one centralized and searchable online location, known as a degree marketplace. Aligned with IUO's brand and existing online presence, the platform features an intuitive and streamlined design, making it easier for prospective students to find program information quickly (within as few as three clicks), leading to more inquiries and enrollments. The platform also features a streamlined and user-friendly content management system and analytics dashboard.
IUO's degree marketplace was launched on February 13, 2018. In the first 30 days after it was activated, IUO leads grew by 77 percent and IUO's conversion rate grew by 395 percent. In the 90 days after activation, lead volume increased by 59 percent over the previous 90 days and had increased the conversion rate by 250 percent. In addition,
- Organic traffic grew 15 percent.
- The bounce rate decreased by 33 percent.
- Average user time-on-site increased by 62 percent.
- Site load speed improved by 81 percent.
- In May 2018, the University received the most traffic the site has ever received—with no paid traffic.
On average since its implementation, the degree marketplace has generated 60 percent more leads per month with no paid marketing. The number of applications also increased dramatically, tripling between 2017 and 2018.
"With this award, UPCEA recognized the key role of the Ranku platform in having a major impact on IUO's visibility and lead growth," said Cecilia Retelle Zywicki, Vice President of Strategic Partnerships at Wiley Education Services. "As one of the solutions offered to higher education institutions through Wiley Education Services, Ranku is a powerful, proven, and easily implemented tool for colleges, universities, and university systems that wish to promote their programs and potentially increase enrollments in a way that minimizes the strain on their in-house resources."
Ranku received the award at UPCEA's annual Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 8th, during the 27th Annual Marketing and Enrollment Management Seminar.
