Famed Maison Partners with Ecological Jeweler William Amor on New Charitable Project
NAPA, Calif., Oct. 11, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Today, Rare Champagne releases its Rare Rosé Millésime 2012 to wine lovers around the world. Only the third release since the Maison's inception in 1976, the newest reveal also marks a long-term commitment to supporting environmental causes.
Commemorating the 2012 release, Rare Champagne has partnered with French artist William Amor on Les Créations Messagères. Created in November 2021, the collaboration aims to highlight 'art at the service of environment' by raising awareness about environmental issues by transforming abandoned plastic materials into delicate floral works. "This is a creative, artistic and solidary collaboration for the coronation of nature," says Maud Rabin, Rare Champagne Global Director. Through this work, Amor transforms consumer waste and recycles parts of the Rare Champagne bottles. For example, the recycled aluminum cap becomes the branch of a cherry tree; a purified plastic bag becomes a colorful flower. He also uses crystals from the champagne vats and turns them into pendants recreating them as intricate artwork in the form of grand-scale flowers.
Working alongside Rare Champagne Global Director Maud Rabin, Amor will adorn a limited number of methuselah bottles, with a unique expression of his work. "I wanted to express the aromas of Rare Rosé Millésime 2012, to interpret its elegance as a piece of royal jewelry," says Amor. The methuselah bottles will be auctioned, with proceeds donated to charities supporting its own commitment to environmental responsibility. Rare Champagne recently achieved B-Corp Certification, received under the leadership of Rare Champagne & Piper Heidsieck Chief Winemaker Emilien Boutillat.
Rare Champagne has declared only twelve exceptional vintages of Rare Millésime Brut and Rosé since its inception in 1976: Rare Millésime Brut 1976, 1979, 1985, 1988, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2002, 2006, 2008, and Rosé Millésime 2007, 2008, and 2012.
The 2012 growing season was unpredictable due to frost, hailstorms, rain, and high temperatures. However, the weather eventually eased and provided perfect conditions for the grapes to ripen just before harvest. Despite a small yield, the year revealed an exceptional vintage. Rare Rosé Millésime 2012 is a true virtuoso, and its aging potential is extraordinary.
Rare Rosé Millésime 2012 balances three distinct aromas: floral, fruit, and spices. The 2012 vintage is crafted with 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir sourced from 12 Crus, eight of which are classified Grand Crus and three Premier Crus. The Rare Millésime Rosé 2012 is imported nationally by Folio Fine Wine Partners, and available from fine wine retailers for $499 per bottle.

About Rare Champagne:
The noble origin of Rare Champagne dates back to a tribute to the Queen of France, Marie-Antoinette, and expresses its revolutionary spirit against the trivialization of vintages. Over the last forty years, Rare Champagne only declared twelve vintages. The most awarded Cellar Master Régis Camus selected only distinct vintages for his signature Rare Champagne. Camus has excelled where time and expertise unveil exceptional champagnes. Régis Camus has entrusted Maud Rabin to be the Rare Champagne Director and Emilien Boutillat, Rare Champagne & Piper Heidsieck cellar master, with the perpetuation of the know-how and the signature style of the wine of Rare Champagne.
The tiara designed by Arthus Bertrand adorning the precious bottle features the triumphant vine prevailing over the whims of weather. Rare Champagne is a wine of patience, with an unlimited potential for expression. Time is no longer an obstacle but a benefit which emphasizes the personality of each vintage. Blossoming year after year, Rare Champagne expresses an elegant style: endless freshness, long-lasting minerality, with a radiant purity and subtle contrasts. Discovering Rare Champagne is an introduction to the French Art de Vivre, whose timeless elegance knows no borders. For more information, please visit: Rare Champagne and follow us on Instagram.
