Realtors Stan Abraham and John Vitale Help the Homeless Survive Extreme Summer Heat

PHOENIX, July 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In Arizona, approximately 132 people die every year from excessive heat. In Phoenix, the average temperature in July is 106 degrees. City officials refer to Code Red season as an "invisible, slow-moving crisis." This extreme heat is particularly punishing for the more vulnerable, such as seniors, those with disabilities, and the homeless. In order to help the homeless in Phoenix survive the blistering summer heat, Stan Abraham and John Vitale are asking for your help in raising money to buy this overlooked segment of the population water.

This fundraising effort is part of the Phoenix Rescue Mission's 7th Annual Code Red Water Drive, which takes place from June 15 to July 15. "Our goal is to raise $25,000 in total donations," said Stan. Added John, "By donating, you can actually save someone's life, as life on the streets during summer can be deadly."

According to the Arizona Emergency Information Network, most heat disorders strike when people spend too much time in the heat or overexert themselves. Older adults, young children, and people who are sick, overweight or have an underlying health condition are more susceptible to heat-related illness. The homeless are significantly affected.

The Stan Abraham and John Vitale Team from Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Arizona Properties has helped collect 1,400,000 bottles of water for the homeless. They also helped lead their office to collect more than 13,000 bottles of water for the local homeless population.
