Registration Open for The Case Management Society of America’s 29th Annual Conference & Expo
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (PRWEB) November 15, 2018 -- Registration is now open for the 29th Annual Case Management Society of America (CMSA) Conference & Expo, the only case management conference enriching the entire healthcare continuum. The conference is scheduled for June 10-14, 2019 at The Mirage in world famous Las Vegas, NV. Industry professionals will convene to elevate their careers and experience an event designed for case managers, where the conference theme is “Navigating the Full Spectrum of Case Management.”
This year’s content aims to spark conversations and provide strategies, solutions and practical tools to help build successful collaborative care teams. Through educational and poster sessions, attendees will have an opportunity to learn and share best practices in demonstrating impact and improving outcomes in medical, social and behavioral health across the continuum. Additionally, concurrent sessions will explore eight key practice settings: acute care, discipline specific case management, leadership, legal/regulatory, long term care, managed care, population health and workers’ compensation. Breakfast and lunch symposia will enhance attendee knowledge of specific disease states such as stroke, diabetes and asthma.
“Our annual conference provides a unique opportunity to network and learn from other case management professionals and industry leaders about our vital role in healthcare transformation,” said CMSA President Jose Alejandro, PhD, RN, FAAN. “Conference participant feedback consistently demonstrates the value of our conference in terms of professional development and deployment of evidence-based practice within their organization. In addition, this is the perfect setting to celebrate our contributions to the healthcare delivery system.”
A leadership pre-conference session and workshop is new to the schedule this year, empowering case managers to lead not only themselves but also their colleagues and peers through the areas of education, certification, mentoring, preceptorship and experience. The content is designed to explore the paths to advanced case management – how case managers should be properly educated, trained and certified to meet the complex needs of all patients, healthcare systems and plans, whether private or government.
The 2019 event expects to welcome over 2,500 healthcare professionals to the main conference, pre and post conference educational activities, certification courses and a special daylong event dedicated to our military, VA and DoD case managers. Over 250 companies will welcome attendees at CMSA’s 2019 Expo, providing information and demonstrations regarding the most current products and services. Attendees will accrue new resources and connections to advance their abilities to recommend and implement the latest technologies when they return to their practice.
Keynote presenters include Vernice “FlyGirl” Armour, America’s first African American female combat pilot. With her fresh, edgy style, contagious energy and gutsy essence, FlyGirl will help attendees create a breakthrough mentality and life! The main session keynote, Anton J. Gunn, MSW, CDM, CSP, best-selling author, hospital executive and former healthcare spokesperson for the President of the United States, will share five keys to unlock greater influence and impact as a leader. Closing keynote, Colette Carlson, a human behavior expert, will inspire attendees to connect and communicate in relevant ways. Get ready to laugh-out-loud while learning to make positive, long-lasting changes in the way you manage time and stress.
CMSA executive director, Kathleen Fraser, remarked, “We’ve listened to what our attendees and members want, and each year we tailor our conference experience to the feedback we receive. Whether it’s the pre-conference offerings, keynote presentations, sessions or multiple networking opportunities, case and care managers across the care continuum will find what they’re looking for at our growing event.”
CMSA continues to forge the future for this rapidly expanding healthcare profession. Through educational content, resources, exhibits, technology, public policy, peer-to-peer networking, attendees will have a custom experience meeting specialized professional needs.
