5StarWines - the Book, the wine selection event organized by Veronafiere, now in its seventh year, will be held from 28 to 30 March 2023. Over 100 industry professionals, including Masters of Wine, Master Sommeliers, journalists and other high-profile figures will gather in Verona for the three-day tasting that evaluates wines from around the world. Last year's edition culminated in over 2,300 wines being tasted, 960 of which were included in the digital and print version of the official guidebook, published as an international marketing and promotional tool.
VERONA, Italy, Dec. 2, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Registration for the seventh edition of 5StarWines - the Book is open from 28 November. Participants who register before 19 December 2022 can enjoy a special 15% discount on the basic rate. Once registered, participants can submit their samples from 9 January to 28 February 2023. Registered samples will then be anonymized under the supervision of Assoenologi and assigned sets for the three days of tasting.
The purpose of 5StarWines & Wine Without Walls is to provide Italian and international producers with a powerful promotional and marketing tool, 5StarWines - the Book, which includes all the participating wines which receive a score of 90 or more out of 100. The selection also aims to promote environmentally friendly viticulture, more in balance with nature, and the Wine Without Walls section is specifically dedicated to biodynamic and certified organic wines. With this in mind, a novelty of the seventh edition is that, as well as the Wine Without Walls Winery of the Year Trophy, a further seven trophies will be awarded to certified organic wines and seven more to biodynamic wines that compete in Wine Without Walls.
Furthermore, the best performing wine producers will have the opportunity to participate in dedicated tastings and interviews. The print and digital guide 5StarWines - the Book, will be distributed internationally at the main trade fairs, B2B meetings, tastings and masterclasses and digital copies will be sent to more than 10,000 industry professionals. Each selected wine will also be promoted on social media platforms with scores and tasting notes written by the General Chairs. The 2023 General Chairs, the selection's senior judging panel, is composed of six renowned judges, pillars of 5StarWines & Wine Without Walls: Caro Maurer MV, Pedro Ballesteros Torres MV, Robert Joseph, Bernard Burtschy, Daniele Cernilli and Gabriele Gorelli MV.
