Reiter Affiliated Companies Honored at Pathfinders Award Ceremony
OXNARD, Calif. (PRWEB) May 20, 2019 -- Reiter Affiliated Companies (RAC) recognized with a 2019 Pathfinder Award by VC Innovates for their leadership and partnership in supporting Career and Technical Education through the Harvest Academy.
VC Innovates presents Pathfinder Awards to educators, business and community partners who support career development for the community’s youth through innovative programming. During the May luncheon at the Spanish Hills Country Club, RAC was recognized alongside more than thirty innovative leaders and community groups who are helping educate and guide the future leaders of Ventura County.
“We are honored to be amongst so many inspiring and talented leaders,” said Mari Escamilla, Communications and Community Engagement Manager. “Working with youth has been a rewarding experience both for our staff, and participants. It is through these type of activities that we can continue to educate more community members about agriculture and create a stronger sense of awareness for the hard but honorable work done by so many farmworkers across our community.”
RAC was recognized for their program Harvest Academy, a summer harvest employment opportunity that incorporates hands-on educational curriculum to further a student’s knowledge and understanding of sustainable farming and the future of agriculture today.
As a family-owned farming company, RAC seeks to ensure that the next generation of children in the community have an opportunity to learn, to develop a career path, and to explore ways they can be good stewards of the land and environment.
