Leveraging an Integration as a Service (IaaS) platform to more effectively manage data connections, message volume and scale.

Zen Healthcare IT (“Zen”), a leading interoperability technology and services company, has announced a new technology and services partnership with Reliance eHealth Collaborative, a growing health information exchange (HIE) organization in the Pacific Northwest.

Reliance eHealth Collaborative securely enables the exchange of clinical data and medical records between over 260 medical practices, hospitals, care facilities, and payers. Participants across Oregon and parts of Washington gain access to critical health information with a broader picture of their patients’ health status and events. As Reliance’s participant growth accelerates, they recognize the need to substantially improve their technology infrastructure and scale as data volumes skyrocket and new data types need to be supported.

“The performance of our technology infrastructure has never been more important than it is today,” says Erick Maddox, Executive Director of Reliance eHealth Collaborative. “We made the decision to add Zen’s integration as a service platform to allow us to connect to more participants, faster, and enhance our overall data exchange capabilities."

Zen’s integration as a service (IaaS) platform, known as Gemini, helps organizations like Reliance create and maintain healthcare data interfaces between the vast number of electronic health record (EHR) systems in use by healthcare facilities across their communities, regions, and organizations nationwide.

“We are honored to work with Mr. Maddox and the Reliance team,” says Marilee Benson, President of Zen Healthcare IT. “Our technology and engineering services will work behind the scenes to ensure every provider in the Reliance network can get the health information they need, when they need it.”

As one of the few companies offering a pure Integration as a Service platform for healthcare, Zen’s Gemini solution is becoming a core interoperability asset for HIEs, health IT vendors, providers and health systems. It helps organizations ensure that they can meet advanced requirements for healthcare interoperability in a sustainable way.
