Renewable Choice Energy Client Standard Power of America Achieves 100% Green Power
Boulder, CO (PRWEB) August 26, 2013 -- Renewable Choice Energy (http://www.renewablechoice.com), a Colorado-based provider of sustainable products and services, including green power, announced today that its client, Standard Power of America, has purchased renewable energy credits (RECs) from the firm to offset 100% of the electricity sold to Standard Power customers. Additionally, in 2013, nearly 20% of all the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Green Power Partner enrollments to date are Standard Power of America’s customers.
Since its founding in 2010, Standard Power of America has worked to become one of the nation’s premier energy consulting firms. The company recognizes that sustainable energy solutions are in demand and the responsible choice for business, and has, as a result, dedicated themselves to providing clean power and energy efficiency options to clients. The firm has offset more than 12,000,000 kilowatt hours since April 1, 2013.
“In addition to providing REC’s, we are currently working on over a dozen solar and lighting projects in NH, doubling our clients’ efforts to be sustainable,” said Richard Harding, partner and sales manager for Standard Power.
“Our clients are looking for sophisticated answers to their energy needs,” said Matt Rounds, President of Standard Power. “By providing them with 100% green power, and purchasing RECs on their behalf, we provide them with a comprehensive, clean energy solution.”
RECs are the way that green power is tracked and traded in North America and are used by thousands of U.S. and Canadian organizations, including the EPA, to decrease environmental impact. A REC purchase allows the buyer to claim the same positive environmental attributes as on-site clean power generation but without the cost and operational complications presented by on-site technology. The EPA Green Power Partners list is published quarterly and features organizations that have made RECs a part of their energy sustainability strategy. In all, these organizations purchase more than 24 billion kilowatt hours of renewable energy annually.
“What Standard Power is doing is really quite unprecedented,” said Stephen Beam, Director of Business Development for Renewable Choice. “By providing green power to customers and helping them to participate in the EPA’s Green Power Partners program, they are demonstrating their position as a leading-edge firm. We’re very pleased to be working with them.”
Renewable Choice has been a leader in the environmental commodities market since its founding in 2001. Renewable Choice provides products and services to more than 50 of the Fortune 500 and, in 2012, the firm was recognized by the EPA as the Green Power Supplier of the Year.
