Renowned Researchers and Clinicians at AutismOne 2019 Conference Conducting Studies on ASD Health Questions
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) January 16, 2019 -- With over 130 speakers spanning a 5-day period, the AutismOne 2019 Conference offers the latest news in health questions related to autism spectrum disorders and how to improve symptoms. Researcher and professor James Adams, PhD, will be speaking on “Comprehensive Nutritional and Dietary Intervention for ASD” and “Microbiota Transplant Therapy for Treating Gastrointestinal Problems in Children with ASD.” Dr. Adams is the director of the Autism/Asperger's Research Program at Arizona State University and the co-leader of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Autism Research Institute. He has published over 150 peer-reviewed scientific articles, including over 40 related to autism.

Then you may be interested in participation in the following clinical trial overseen by experienced, well-credentialed researchers Richard Frye, MD, PhD, and James Adams, PhD. This health arena, in general, already shows much promise. The purpose of the study is to investigate a new, investigational treatment for gastrointestinal (GI) problems and autism symptoms known as microbial transfer therapy (MTT). Arizona State University’s Autism/Asperger’s Research Program is conducting a “National Survey on Evaluation of Marijuana, CBD, and THC Products for ASD.”
Background: Marijuana, CBD, and THC products are used by some individuals with ASD, but there is little research on their possible benefits and possible adverse effects.
Study Purpose: To gather survey data on the possible benefits and possible adverse effects of marijuana, CBD, and THC products for ASD
Who can enroll? Adults with ASD, or parents/guardians of individuals with ASD, who have used one or more of these products.
Survey: The survey is anonymous, and will require about 5-10 minutes to complete.
Compensation: none
Participation is voluntary.
Impact: Participation in this study will help us understand the possible benefits and possible adverse effects of marijuana, CBD, and THC products for ASD, and help guide future research on them.

Another IRB-approved study of interest is “The Association between Neurologic Status and Emigration to Mitochondrial Disease and Microbiome Shifts.” This is a non-invasive study that will be analyzing the mitochondrial health and polyomics on ASD patients and neurotypicals.
