Republic Wireless, the innovative wireless service provider saving consumers money on their smartphone service, announces Moto Maker for the Moto X.

Every day we are working to create more reasons to make the switch to Republic Wireless. Many of us are within range of a WiFi network most of the time. Using WiFi when possible, and cellular only when you need to, is a very easy way to save money.

Republic Wireless, the innovative wireless service provider saving consumers money on their wireless service by harnessing the power of both WiFi and cellular to lower the cost of smartphone service, today announced they will offer the full-suite of Moto X customization options available on Moto Maker, giving customers the ability to choose everything from the front, back, and accent colors, to the memory, wallpapers, and accessories.

Beginning at 12:00 PM EST on Tuesday, April 1, Republic Wireless customers will be able to design their own no-contract Moto X through MotoMaker.com by selecting either the 16GB ($349.99) or 32GB ($399.99) version, have it assembled in the U.S.A., and get it shipped for free. As a special launch incentive, the first 2,000 customers who visit http://www.motorola.com/WoodYouBelieveIt starting at 11:00 AM EST on Tuesday, April 1 and enter their email address will get a coupon code for a upgrade to Bamboo or other wood finish ($25 value) for a new custom Moto X with Republic Wireless.

“Republic Wireless offers the industry’s lowest rates for unlimited smartphone service, the lowest total cost of ownership, and some of the market’s best smartphones. Who would have believed how much money we would help consumers save? It’s tens of millions of dollars over the past few years, and we are just getting started,” said David Morken, co-founder and chief executive officer of Republic Wireless.

“We’re absolutely thrilled to offer Moto Maker for Moto X. With an amazing amount of color combinations and real wood finishes to choose from, there are over 4,000 ways to make Moto X yours. Plus, it’s the only smartphone assembled in the U.S.A. at a factory just outside of Fort Worth, Texas. The unique combination of Moto Maker with our flexible wireless service plans is a big win for customers everywhere.”

Once customers receive their new customized Moto X phones, they will be able to activate it on the Republic Wireless network directly from the device and take advantage of all the features customers have come to expect from Republic Wireless: Hybrid WiFi and cellular calling with seamless connectivity when leaving WiFi coverage, no contracts, the ability to switch plans up to twice per month with pro-rated billing, and unlimited plans starting as low as $5 per month.

“Moto Maker is just the latest example of Republic Wireless offering choice to our customers. Since launching Moto X and seamless WiFi to cellular handover in November ‘13 which was a major milestone, Republic Wireless has steadily been adding the most requested features our customers are asking for,” Morken said. “In addition to full Moto Maker customization options, Republic Wireless members will now be able to take advantage of special Motorola.com add-on features, including a Motorola credit account, accidental damage & handling insurance, and various promotional offers.”

“Every day we are working to create more reasons to make the switch to Republic Wireless. The truth is many of us are within range of a WiFi network most of the time. Using WiFi when possible, and cellular only when you need to, is a very easy way to save money and the question has now become - Why would anyone want to buy more cellular than necessary?” Morken adds.

Republic Wireless will continue selling the Black and White 16GB Moto X for $299, with no contract required, from RepublicWireless.com.
