ResponderXLabs & Amazon Web Services (AWS) Showcase Leading Solutions to Global First Responder Capability Gaps
Event represents a first-of-its-kind showcase demonstration of cutting-edge technology working to solve the Project Responder 5 Capability Needs and the IFAFRI Common Global Capability Gaps as determined by DHS S&T and IFAFRI
WASHINGTON, Nov. 5, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- In response to a growing need for innovative solutions in the public safety industry, Thursday, October 18th at the Amazon corporate office in downtown Washington, DC, ResponderXLabs and Amazon Web Services (AWS) showcased eleven cutting-edge public safety solutions to leaders from across the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and representatives from the 15 members (14 countries and the European Commission) of the International Forum to Advance First Responder Innovation (IFAFRI).
"Through the great work at DHS S&T with Project Responder 5 and IFAFRI's Common Global Capability Gaps, we get a clear picture of the significant need for innovation in public safety. At Responder Corp we believe first responders deserve immediate access to technology to solve those gaps and we're driven by the singular mission to make that happen. Fortunately, entrepreneurs from all over the world are working tirelessly to help deliver the solutions. We think it's vital that both industry and agencies are not just aware that these technologies exist, but understand that they are available for purchase and use today. Together in collaboration with AWS, we're committed to ensuring that every first responder has visibility and access to these lifesaving solutions," said Bryce Stirton, Co-Founder & President, Responder Corp.
A key driver for the support and development of innovative technology for first responders is the Science and Technology Directorate at the Department of Homeland Security.
"It should come as no surprise that all of the attendees whom I spoke to were very impressed by the facilitation, coordination, and of course the quality of the technologies that were displayed. The companies who were represented were top notch and had some very innovative approaches to solving some of our first responders' most urgent needs," said Phil Waters, Supervisory Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) First Responders Group (FRG) and Chair, International Forum to Advance First Responder Innovation (IFAFRI) Stakeholder Engagement Committee (SEC).
A core tenant of ResponderXLabs events is the inclusion and focus on the local public safety agencies and boots-on-the-ground first responders.
"Having exhausted myself over the years after attending various public safety "hackathons" that rarely yielded solutions, it was extremely refreshing to see such a high-caliber group of companies that were extremely relevant," said Steve Birnbaum, Rockville Fire Department and member of the DHS S&T First Responder Resource Group (FRRG).
Companies that showcased technologies at the event included:
- 3AM Innovation
- Blueforce Development
- Callyo
- Centrallo
- Haas Alert
- Kiana Analytics
- Orion Labs
- Qwake Technologies
- RapidSOS
- Timbre Technologies
- Twiage
"Partnerships are vital to reaching local government at scale" said Steve Ressler, President at Callyo. "We're building great success working with both AWS and ResponderXLabs, this event was a rare opportunity for us to continue expanding our partnership network across federal and international channels."
The next ResponderXLabs and AWS showcase event will be held Thursday, November, 15 2018 in San Francisco. For additional information and registration instructions, please visit: https://www.responderxlabs.com/responderxlive/sf18/.
