With increased focus on safety regulations due to the coronavirus pandemic, Responsible Training has created a first-of-its-kind training course to educate service industry workers on best practices to limit the spread of coronavirus.

Responsible Training has launched a first-of-its-kind COVID-19 awareness course to educate restaurant workers on best practices to limit the spread of coronavirus. As some states around the country begin to reopen, it was imperative to create a resource for restaurant workers to learn how to safely perform their jobs. The course is based on the very latest guidelines from the CDC and the FDA, and vetted by stakeholders including local public health officials and restaurant owner/operators.

The course provides guidance on measures and guidelines food service industry workers can implement to protect themselves and those they come in contact with from spreading the virus when resuming business at their establishments. Responsible Training is proudly leading the way to keep both customers and workers safe in the service industry.

State governments have not yet made COVID-19-related modifications to their mandated food safety standards, but that doesn’t mean restaurants won’t be held to a certain standard of safety by the people who truly matter – their customers.

As communities around the country make plans for relaxing their COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, many restaurants are now preparing to welcome more customers back for sit-down service. While many citizens are understandably hesitant about going out in public, restaurants need to be equipped for the people who are ready to dine in again.

Whether it’s patio-only dining, or tables placed further apart to limit the total number of guests, managers and owners are needing to think through the logistics of how they’ll operate under these new restrictions. Existing and new restaurant workers will need to be trained and proficient in everything from food handling to sanitation standards to customer interactions. This course will inform workers and stakeholders of the best practices to keep themselves and their customers safe and healthy.

In the coming days and weeks, Responsible Training will continue to keep monitoring changes in recommendations and best practices and update this program to meet the needs of these ever-changing times.

Since opening their doors in 2004, Responsible Training has helped train and certify more than 500 thousand students in the handling of food and alcohol. They’ve helped certify staff members for dozens of well-known eateries, including, Chuy’s, Chuck E. Cheese, Raising Cane’s, and Golden Chick. With online food handler and food manager courses offered in many states nationwide, students can get 100% certified at a moment’s notice.
