“With our new mobile processing capabilities, pharmacies can go beyond curbside and drive-through pickup for prescriptions; they can and use it for OTC, gifts and other retailer merchandise immediately, and in the long-term, beyond Coronavirus.”

CAM Commerce®, a subsidiary of Celerant Technology and leading provider of innovative retail solutions for the pharmacy industry, now integrates with the Genius Handheld™, a wireless WiFi-enabled payment terminal designed by Cayan®, a leading provider of payment technologies and merchant services. The integration enables drug stores to offer mobile processing for curbside and/or drive-through pickup to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19.

CAM Commerce’s RetailSTARx™, an omnichannel retail solution for independent and small chain pharmacies, integrates with the Genius Handheld at the point of sale. With RetailSTARx, pharmacies can sell prescriptions, over-the-counter items and retail merchandise; manage their physical stores and eCommerce website as one; integrate with leading pharmacy wholesale companies and dispensing systems, manage inventory, scan Rx barcodes, accept copays, provide in store pickup and home delivery, offer loyalty programs, and much more. Using Genius Handheld with RetailSTARx, pharmacies can process orders anywhere using multiple payment types (credit, debit, gift cards, FSA); leverage EMV chip card readers; capture Rx electronic signatures; and offer email/print receipts – so customers can make purchases without stepping inside the store. The device can be used for curbside and/or drive-through pickup.

“With the impact of COVID-19, Celerant is quickly creating technology that pharmacies need now to continue operating, while protecting high-risk patients, retail customers and staff,” said Ian Goldman, CEO and President of Celerant Technology. “With our new mobile processing capabilities, pharmacies can go beyond curbside and drive-through pickup for prescriptions; they can and use it for OTC, gifts and other retailer merchandise immediately, and in the long-term, beyond Coronavirus.”
