About the Author
Robert Willis was born in Bagdad on June 29, 1927. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict. In 1957, he and Carole Ann Smith were married in her hometown of Quincy. They have three children, two boys and a girl. Since marriage, they have lived in diverse places doing diverse things. Known as "Bobby Neal" to his childhood friends and "Buddy" to kinfolks, Willis attended Florida Southern College, the University of Texas, Stanford University and the Florida State University, graduating in 1962 from the latter with a doctorate in educational research and measurement. He and Carole reside alone now in Bagdad. His published works include "Crossing Clayborn," "Great Point Clear" and "Barlow and Other Stories."
